A wonderful trip in green Umbria: A region of soft hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and forests. But Umbria is not only nature, as its charm also lies in its towns that preserve a medieval sense, with remains of walls and fortresses, churches and monasteries, built on the slopes of the hills, on the edges of cliffs and overlooking spectacular views.
So, this is what awaits us: art tastings, wine tastings, chocolate, fine food, special workshops and lots of green for the eyes.

Upon arrival at Rome airports (Fiumicino or Ciampino), a private transfer to our hotel can be arranged upon request for a smooth and comfortable start to your journey. In the afternoon, we will meet at our hotel in central Rome for a welcome briefing, presentation of the tour itinerary, and dinner.

This morning we’ll head north to the region of Umbria. We’ll arrive in the town of Orvieto, located in southwestern Umbria. We’ll visit its impressive Cathedral and the charming historic center. Then the experience continues with an evocative journey into the Orvieto Underground, a fascinating labyrinth of ancient tunnels, Etruscan cavities, wells and chambers carved into the tuff rock. This immersive guided tour reveals the hidden world beneath the city and the millennia-old relationship between Orvieto and its unique volcanic landscape. After that we will return to our hotel having there dinner.

In the morning, we’ll explore the historic center of Perugia, the capital of Umbria.
We’ll visit its main landmarks, including the Rocca Paolina, built in the 16th century over ancient Etruscan walls as part of Pope Paul III’s attempt to subdue the rebellious people of Perugia.
We’ll then reach Piazza IV Novembre, home to the famous Fontana Maggiore, sculpted by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano, and the nearby Cathedral of San Lorenzo.
We’ll stroll along Corso Pietro Vannucci (named after the painter Perugino, one of the city’s most famous sons), we will visit the former money changers’ guild, decorated with Perugino’s frescoes, and enjoy some street art among the winding alleys of the old town.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Weaving Museum, where ancient looms from the 18th–19th centuries are still in use — and we’ll even try our hand at weaving.
The museum is located inside a beautiful former Franciscan monastery.
Return to the hotel and dinner.

This morning, we’ll visit Spoleto, an ancient city built on a hillside with narrow, winding alleys.
We’ll go up to admire the fortress and the Ponte delle Torri, then descend to the old town to see the Cathedral, featuring frescoes by Filippo Lippi.
In the afternoon, we’ll tour the Perugina Chocolate Factory, home of the famous Baci (“kisses”).
We’ll enjoy chocolate workshop and tastings before returning to our hotel for dinner.

In the morning, we’ll visit a cashmere goat farm, learning about these unique animals whose wool produces one of the finest, warmest, and most luxurious fibers in the world.
We’ll participate in the farm’s activities and end with a light lunch featuring local specialties.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit a local winery managed by women, where we’ll sample regional wines.
In recent years, more and more women have founded and led wineries — mastering every stage of winemaking, from production to tasting.
Return to the hotel and dinner.

This morning, we’ll travel to the picturesque medieval town of Gubbio, located on the slopes of Mount Ingino.
We’ll visit the Basilica of Sant’Ubaldo at the top of the hill, then return to the old town to see Piazza dei Martiri, the Fountain of the Madmen, and Piazza Grande.
At midday, we’ll join a truffle hunt guided by a trained dog, followed by a light lunch featuring truffle-based dishes.
In the afternoon, we’ll take part in a ceramics workshop in the town of Gubbio, renowned for its traditional maiolica pottery.
We’ll paint our own ceramics and learn about this centuries-old craft.
Return to the hotel and dinner.

We’ll begin the day in the medieval town of Spello, whose ancient alleys preserve a timeless charm.
At midday, we’ll visit an olive grove and oil mill, learn about the olive oil production process, and enjoy a light lunch based on local products.
In the afternoon—celebrating March 8th, International Women’s Day—we’ll take time to pamper ourselves, relaxing at Resort & Spa Valleantica, a serene environment with soft music, cozy bathrobes, and comfortable slippers.
Optional massages and treatments are available (extra cost).
Return to the hotel and dinner.

This morning, we’ll leave our hotel and head to Civita di Bagnoregio.
We’ll stroll through the ancient village to one of the area’s most stunning viewpoints, cross the scenic “floating” stone bridge, and enter the so-called “dying city” (La città che muore) — a perfectly preserved medieval town frozen in time.
We’ll also explore the nearby old borgo.
After the visit, we’ll continue south to Rome.
