Day - 5
Monday, 16.02.26: Genoa – The Battle of Oranges in Ivrea – Turin

In the morning we will tour Genoa’s main sites before heading north to Piedmont. Our destination: Ivrea, famous for its unique Carnival tradition – the legendary Battle of Oranges, reenacting the people’s historic revolt against the tyrant and his guards. Nine teams of “rebel” orange-throwers on foot (Arancieri a Piedi) face off against the tyrant’s guards, riding on horse-drawn carriages (Arancieri sui Carri). The battle recalls the story of the folk heroine Violetta, who resisted the tyrant’s demand for the “right of the first night” and took brutal revenge.
Evening transfer to our hotel in Turin like Grand Hotel Sitea or similar. Tonight, we’ll share a meal at a beloved local spot, discovering the authentic tastes of the area.

Ciao,
Recently we participated in a managers’ trip of Bank Leumi, in which my wife also took part. The trip was dedicated to the carnivals of Northern Italy.
It’s important for me to emphasize that we were blessed with an extraordinary guide in every aspect! She is a rare kind of person who truly cares for each and every member of the group. She went above and beyond to make sure the experience would be perfect. This was the shared opinion of all participants in the group.
I wish that every trip we take in the future will be guided by her.

We set out, as usual, on what we thought would be a routine organized trip. But this was not an ordinary trip—it was exceptional in every way! The people in the group were amazing, as if each one had been handpicked. And the guide, truly one of a kind, cared for us as though we were her own children. Her professionalism, her pleasant manners, and the vast knowledge she shared with us created a magical atmosphere that accompanied us throughout the journey. For this, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the incredible guide. She accompanied us every step of the way, as though we were taking our very first steps.
The Carnival Tour was intense, and we enjoyed every moment. Without a doubt, we will want to travel with Solo Italia again to any destination in the world—especially with this guide. We look forward to receiving more travel proposals.

Good morning everyone!
We returned today after a night flight—tired, but happy! This was unlike any other trip we’ve ever taken over the years. It was an experiential journey that touched all the senses.
The trip combined the beautiful landscapes of Italian regions—Liguria and Lombardy, Tuscany and Piedmont. It brought together scenery with historical stories, artistic descriptions with mythological tales. It included fascinating encounters with traditions, people, and masks. It also allowed leisure time for wandering aimlessly through the streets and shopping for souvenirs. The highlight, of course, was the carnival—so fundamentally different from a festival! We saw, we listened, we tasted, we smelled, we even touched exhibits and blended into the local scene with songs and dances, masks and hats.
The guide added another dimension to the experience with her stories and descriptions. She turned the trip into a moving and wonderful experience, and for that she deserves our deepest thanks and blessings!
And to you, friends, also thanks—for contributing to the group and sharing in such a pleasant atmosphere.
May we all continue to travel in Israel and around the world, to collect experiences, savor life, and keep enjoying it!
